Hi! My name is John Doherty, and I am a caricaturist. Some people have trouble pronouncing the word caricature, and some
confuse it with the word character, asking if I do "character drawings". Caricatures do try to depict something
of the subject's character, but they are two different words. Further compounding the confusion, you can pronounce the word
CARicature, or caRICature. In any case, I draw live caricatures at parties, and at business events, trade shows, bar
mitzvahs, showers, what have you.
My work has twice been recognized by the National Caricaturist Network, which
has since morphed into the International Society of Caricature Artists. I have also been invited to the Salon at St. Just
le Martel in France and displayed my work there among the cartoonists & caricaturists from all points of the globe.
In my years in the business, I have entertained rock stars, presidential candidates, and the occasional ambassador.
My party art has enlivened many an occasion, and can do the same for your event. Call me @ 978 927-8057, or by email at john@johndoherty.com
to discuss how I can help make you event a big success.
Here's some recent iPad caricature: one entertainer, two
from the world of politics, and one of the 2012 Student Athlete Award winners from The Salem News (link here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/87984113/Student-Athlete-2012#fullscreen
